It is our pleasure to welcome you to high school! High school is Exciting and it is Fun!
High school offers a lot of opportunities to be successful academically and through extra-curricular involvement. We offer a variety of classes and many after-school activities from the Bike Club to Girls’ Lacrosse and everything in between. Your school counselor will be available to you to aid in your transition to high school and to help you make the right choices about your future!
School Counseling Schedule for Grade 9 students:
· August: Freshman Orientation
· September: Freshmen Orientation
“Get to Know You”/School Year Agenda/Scavenger Hunt (School Policies & Procedures)
· Fall & Winter months: Individual Meetings with your School Counselor
· Advisory, October & November: Goal Setting
· Parent Evening Program, December: “How to Pay for College” (Date is to be determined)
· Advisory, December: Naviance Career exploration personality style inventory, “Do What You Are”
· Advisory, February: Presentation on the Course Selection and online scheduling process
· March: Registration for sophomore courses
Throughout the year:
Continue to focus on your studies by:
Attending school
Studying for tests/quizzes
Completing all homework
Seeking out extra help from teachers
Remember that grades are cumulative and hard work pays off!!!
